The Moulin de David is located less than 30 minutes from the confluence of two rivers that are périgourdines Dordogne and Vezere. So you can practice in family canoe or kayak and discover the wild landscapes of the Vezere and castles along the Dordogne.
The Dordogne is surrounded by many castles and medieval towns: Beynac, Castelnaud La Roque Gageac Milandes Castle, Castle Marquesac, etc ... The Dordogne is a peaceful river particularly suited to the practice of "relaxing canoe" with family or friends.
Many providers offer their services. Following the recommendations and opinions of our customers who have practiced canoeing on the Dordogne we suggest the services offered by "Canoë Détente" Port of envaux (about 35 minutes from the Moulin de David). Two circuits are possible:- Departure of the canoe Roque Gageac 14km (1/2 day only)- Departure canoe Carsac: 28km (a ride for the day).
Vézère you into the Cro-Magnon era. You will discover on its banks the highest places of prehistory as Les Eyzies, Tursac, La Roque St Christophe, the troglodyte village of La Madeleine, etc ... Note that this part of the valley of the Vezere is a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1979.
Our customers spoke highly of the course organized by the company "Les 3 Drapeaux" This company offers 5 courses from 9km (2h) at 28km (6h).
Regardless the route chosen, the meeting place is always Eyzies. (45 minutes from the campsite)
